Situated next to the Wanggong (Duke) Village in Wanggong Road, the temple worships the Sie Family Duke and has become an important religious center in Linyuan. The seven carriages on the temple have over 170 years of history; they are handcrafted from thousand year old camphor wood. According to historical records, in 1822 (Cing Dynasty) the pilgrims conducted their first blessing ceremony and required seven carriages to welcome the God’s arrival; since it was mullet season in winter, fishermen discovered the large floating wood and tow it to shore. That night, the Sie Family Duke instructed the fishermen in their dreams to carve the seven carriages. |
